Why I created The Next Brazil? First post.
Thoughts about the opportunity to invest and make money in the biggest country of LATAM
My name is Rodrigo Dantas.
I am a former co-founder of a tech company in Brazil. I ran this company (Vindi) for the last years and a learned a lot, raised capital, managed around 500 employees, lost some important deals, met extraordinary people, i have made money and contributed to our technology ecosystem.
I also helped to cofound the startups ContaSimples and the media publishing portal startups.com.br and invested in more than 15 startups (see the portfolio here).
Likewise, I am very proud.
Two years ago, we sold the company to Locaweb (B3:LWSA3), a pioneer and leading internet company in Brazil. Since then, i’m living a sabbatical, investing the money in the real state market and buying a coffee farm in the countryside of São Paulo.
Now, I'm very focused on participating in board companies (Siteware) and investment firms (Crescera, Criatec4) and helping entrepreneurs of different geographics to come and invest in Brazil.
I decided to write to stay close to entrepreneurs and put my ideas on paper.
“The Next Brazil" is based on some of these learnings from 24 years of being an executive in the Brazilian financial market and running a tech company for the last 10 years.
This first post is to explain better my idea about this side project. So…
Why Brazil?
First, is my country. I was born, I live, and I believe in Brazil. 230 million people, thousands of problems (and opportunities), millions of acres producing food on a large scale (we feed the world), hacker culture…there so many things to say.
Dozens of people ask me to talk with foreign entrepreneurs
Writing this blog is a better way to talk with people interested in invest in Brazil. Directly.
Big money
It’s possible to make big money investing in Brazil. Some hedge funds understand very well this affirmation, some VCs (venture capital funds) and angel investors too.
I’m not a journalist, I don’t have conflict with some corporate agenda.
My ideas, thoughts and opinion are independent.
Adorei !!!!
welcome back Rodrigo
